Background
Due to a fault with an underground cable area outside municipal buildings in Blackpool, a patch of block paving, including a previously installed TAC-GRID crossing, needed to be removed and replaced.
Solution
This was a simple installation as the TAC-GRID system does not require ground preparation or any special requirements pre-installation. It can be laid on any hard, level surface as long as it is good quality. In this case, the team that re-installed the block paving could install TAC- GRID as standard.
By using our own traffic management, consisting of cones, barrier and signs, the installation team only need a small space to work in allowing the road and the footway to remain open throughout. No large plant or equipment is used in the installation process, just a battery powered hand mixer, rollers and brushes.
Outcome
The installation was completed within 45 minutes with no disruption to pedestrians, vehicles or the employees working in the building.
